Voluntary Action LeicesterShire, Diversity Hub, Lighthouse Learning and WRVS are all delivering Vprojects offering a menu of activity for young people. The VTeam is based at Focus, brokering young people into volunteering opportunities. The Vinvolved project at Voluntary Action LeicesterShire works within the City of Leicester and works in partnership with Schools, FE Colleges, Universities and with a number of other organisations to create exciting and fun volunteering opportunities.
Since the start of Voluntary Action LeicesterShire's Vproject in April 2008, over 900 young people have registered to volunteer in part time, short term and one off volunteering opportunities.

School Based volunteering - A wide menu of volunteering opportunities have been developed in Leicester City schools. We have created opportunities in primary, secondary and special needs schools from helping out in the classroom and sharing books with children to school gardeners, playground activities and after school clubs. At New college Leicester volunteers can help out in the school office and shadow the premises officers to get some hands on experiences. If you can spare as little as 4 hours a week to listen to children read and sdhare books to help raise the reading levels of children we would be pleased to hear from you.
